For Students
Volunteer for Service Hours in Bangalore
Real weekend projects for school and college students in Bengaluru, built by students. They work for IB CAS, community service requirements, or simply doing something that matters.
Real service, not a sign-up sheet
Most students looking for volunteer opportunities in Bangalore end up with a one-off visit or a certificate for an afternoon. Youth For Change works differently. Every month we pick one goal, spend the month planning and fundraising for it, and deliver it together over a single weekend.
That means you do more than show up. You help plan a food donation drive, raise the money, pack and deliver meals, tutor children, or run the social media that brings people in. For IB Diploma students, that kind of project fits naturally into CAS Service and Activity. For IGCSE, A-Level, CBSE and ICSE students, it is meaningful community service you can talk about in interviews and applications.
We are four students from Bengaluru schools ourselves, so we build every project around a school timetable: planning happens online through the month, and the hands-on work happens on a weekend.
What you can do
- Pack and deliver meals on food drive weekends with Meals for All
- Tutor children and run book and school-kit drives with Learn & Rise
- Fundraise, run the Inicio stall, and speak to your school community
- Design posts, film Reels and manage our Instagram campaigns
How it works
- Sign up on our Get Involved page and pick the area you're interested in.
- Join the month's goal: we add you to the planning group for that month's project.
- Plan and fundraise with the team over the month, mostly online and around school.
- Deliver it on the execution weekend alongside our partner NGOs.
- Reflect and share: we post the results publicly, and you can use the experience for your CAS or service record.
Questions students ask
Does volunteering with Youth For Change count for IB CAS?
Our projects respond to real community needs in Bengaluru, which is what CAS Service is about. Your CAS coordinator makes the final call, so share the project details with them before you start.
Can I get my volunteer hours recorded?
We keep a record of who volunteers on each project. If your school needs confirmation of your involvement, ask us after the project.
Do I need any experience?
No. Every project has roles for first-timers, and you'll work alongside students who have done it before.
Is there a cost to join?
No. Volunteering with Youth For Change is free.
I'm under 18. Can I still help?
Yes. Most of our volunteers are school students. For on-ground drives, please make sure a parent or guardian knows where you'll be.
